Monitoring Health Sector Adaptation in London

29 June 2018, 10:00 to 13:00

We invite colleagues from health and social care sectors to join us for a discussion about climate change impacts on health and well-being, how well London’s health sector is adapting, and how we can monitor progress.

Background:

The new London Environment Strategy sets out a sector-based approach to climate change adaptation, with the London Climate Change Partnership bringing together sector expertise to consider the risks and opportunities that climate change will bring, develop indicators and monitor adaptation progress, and agree actions to build London’s climate resilience.

Event details:

This event will focus on London’s health sector. The agenda will include:

  • The NHS Sustainable Development Unit’s approach to health and sustainability (Kim Croasdale, NHS SDU)
  • Climate change and health – impacts, vulnerability, and monitoring (Sari Kovats, LSHTM)
  • Monitoring adaptation in London (Kristen Guida, LCCP)
  • Interactive discussion about the preparedness of London’s health sector and what information is needed to evaluate this

We will also seek participants for a monitoring steering group to continue this work

We welcome participation from NHS and Public Health England colleagues, care providers, and third-sector organizations working on health-related issues.
