City Hall, London
The Climate Just team at the University of Manchester are delighted to present the new version of Climate Just, three years and 25,000 users after the original launch in February 2015. We hope that stakeholders from public service providers will join us for some insightful presentations, lively debate and hands–on testing.
Climate Just helps provide answers to the question ‘who is most socially vulnerable to climate change, where are they and what can be done?’ through a comprehensive, free to access set of online resources.
Improvements to the web tool include:
• incorporation of new 2017 research into flood risk, vulnerability and disadvantage
• extended mapping coverage to include Wales and Scotland
• finer grained flood disadvantage mapping (from MSOA to LSOA)
• future flood risk up to 2050s under 2° and 4°C climate scenarios.
This event follows on from a series of preview workshops in England, Scotland and Wales where stakeholders have trialled the new site and helped improve it before it is made public.
