🗒 Reports, briefs and resources released

Hopeful Futures: Lessons on involving the public in decisions around climate adaptation

Hopeful Futures brought together experts and practitioners from across King’s College London and was delivered in collaboration with the London Boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark and Tower Hamlets as part of the London Councils Climate Programme. The report explores what can be learned from involving residents in decisions about climate adaptation through deliberative workshops. The project brought together 27 residents for four workshops to imagine what well‑adapted neighbourhoods could look like by 2050, and to identify the steps required to get there. The work centres creativity, lived experience, and inclusive dialogue to help shape local adaptation policies.

West London Communities project | Engage Environment Agency

The West London Communities Project is an early-stage Environment Agency study focused on understanding future flood risks to properties in South West London. The work uses new flood‑modelling data to assess how rising sea levels and more extreme rainfall, driven by climate change, will increase the likelihood and severity of flooding.

Go! London Open Innovation Challenges: Apply Now

Go! London has launched two new Open Innovation Challenges, inviting creative ideas that explore how sport and physical activity can help address today’s social and environmental challenges.

The Sport for Climate Action challenge is calling on organisations to develop creative solutions that drive climate action through awareness, capacity building and engagement, or that enable climate-resilient participation of children and young people in physical activity. The second challenge, Reimagining Spaces for Sport & Play, focuses on creating more safe, inclusive, and affordable spaces for young people to be active.

Successful applicants can receive up to £100,000 in funding, join a two-month capacity-building programme, and connect with social innovators across London. Projects must be delivered in London and led by a non-profit organisation. Collaborations across sectors are encouraged.

Applications close at 5pm on Tuesday 17th February 2026.
