Climate adaptation strategy for transport – GOV.UK

This strategy sets out a long-term approach for how the UK transport sector will adapt to the impacts of climate change, ensuring resilience and continuity of services. The vision is to create a well-adapted transport system capable of withstanding a changing climate. Achieving this requires a deeper understanding of climate risks and the integration of adaptation into governance, decision-making, and operational processes across the sector.

Local Authority Risk and Adaptation Toolkit: Heat Edition – GOV.UK

This toolkit is designed for local authorities to help assess heat-related health risks and plan actions to protect health.

MACC Hub: Awarded Projects  – MACC Hub

The MACC Hub is supporting two new projects in London:

Based in Lambeth, this project is led by Dr. Yijing Li, King’s College London and Big Local North Brixton.

Go! London Open Innovation Challenges: Apply Now

Go! London has launched two new Open Innovation Challenges, inviting creative ideas that explore how sport and physical activity can help address today’s social and environmental challenges.

The Sport for Climate Action challenge is calling on organisations to develop creative solutions that drive climate action through awareness, capacity building and engagement, or that enable climate-resilient participation of children and young people in physical activity. The second challenge, Reimagining Spaces for Sport & Play, focuses on creating more safe, inclusive, and affordable spaces for young people to be active.

Successful applicants can receive up to £100,000 in funding, join a two-month capacity-building programme, and connect with social innovators across London. Projects must be delivered in London and led by a non-profit organisation. Collaborations across sectors are encouraged.

Applications close at 5pm on Tuesday 17 February 2026.

Thames health check celebrates rebirth of famous river | The Zoological Society of London

The Zoological Society of London (ZSL) have published an updated The State of the Thames report. The report states how the River Thames has made a remarkable recovery from its 1950s “biologically dead” state thanks to decades of conservation and cleaner water efforts. However, despite these efforts, experts also warn that climate change and ongoing pollution still pose significant challenges.

📂 Consultations and Surveys

Training Needs for Transformational Climate Adaptation

The Maximising UK Adaptation to Climate Change (MACC) Hub has launched a new survey to map the current landscape of climate change adaptation training across the UK. The aim is to better understand what knowledge, skills and capacities practitioners already have, and what support they need to deliver effective, long-term and transformational adaptation.

The survey explores:

  • Current training and learning opportunities in climate adaptation
  • Gaps, priorities and unmet needs across sectors
  • How organisations approach adaptation, including structural barriers and decision-making processes

Insights gathered will help shape new training initiatives that build the capabilities, confidence and cultures needed for transformational adaptation; adaptation that addresses the root causes of vulnerability, not just the symptoms.

The survey takes around 25 minutes to complete.

If you’d like more context, you can read the MACC Hub’s short blog here: https://macchub.co.uk/knowledge-base/united-kingdom/survey-training-for-transformational-climate-adaptation/
