Adaptation Futures virtual conference October 4-8 The sixth Adaptation Futures conference, hosted by The Energy and Resources Institute, New Delhi, will happen virtually from 4-8 October. This week, there is a set of capacity building masterclasses on subjects including mobilizing private sector finance for adaptation, safeguarding communities, pathways approaches, governance and young people, displacement, and complex systems approaches to adaptation. Climate Risk Summit 29 September-1 October The COP26 Universities Network will be hosting the Climate Risk Summit this week to provide a forum for discussion of climate risk topics and bring climate risk information to the attention of a wider audience in advance of COP26. Events are online, free, and open to all, with panel sessions covering “Characterizing climate risks” (29 Sept), “Building resilience to climate hazards” (30 Sept), and “Communicating climate risk – an interactive workshop” (1 October). Climate Justice and the City webinar The Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources presents this webinar event on 11 October exploring climate justice, and specifically the role of built environment professionals and decision-makers in building equitable places and contributing to just adaptation. Come along to find out about the justice implications of built environment decisions in the context of climate change, and about how we can use COP26 to promote transformative change.
Survey for food sector colleagues Researchers working with our Space4Climate partners are investigating how satellite data could be used to better understand issues for food supply chains. They have created a short online survey to gather information (anonymously) about needs, priorities, threats, and opportunities, and would be grateful for input from organisations involved in any part of the UK food system i.e. logistics, production, retail, finance, regulation, advice, etc.
